Privacy Policy

What we collect

The tools on Mello run entirely in your browser. Inputs you provide to the tools (text, files, numbers) are processed locally and are not transmitted to our servers.

We collect standard request logs (IP address, user agent, referrer, page viewed) when you visit pages. We use these for security and aggregate analytics.

Who operates this site

Mello is operated by an independent publisher. For any privacy-related request you can reach us at hello@mello.tools. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

How long we keep data

Server request logs (IP, user agent, referrer, page viewed) are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention, then deleted or anonymised. Aggregate analytics data contains no identifiers that single you out and may be kept longer in summarised form.

Cookies, advertising, and third parties

We use the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing the data it collects:

  • Google AdSense (Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd.) — serves ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and device identifiers to show ads based on your prior visits to this or other sites. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
  • Google Funding Choices — displays the consent message shown to visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland and records your consent choice.
  • Google Analytics 4 (if enabled) — aggregate traffic measurement with IP anonymisation. It does not receive anything you type into the tools.

You can opt out of personalised advertising via Google's Ads Settings or aboutads.info. In the EEA/UK/CH you can also change your choice anytime via the consent link in the page footer.

Local storage

We store one preference on your device using your browser's localStorage: your chosen color theme (mello-theme = light or dark). It never leaves your browser and you can clear it at any time via your browser's site-data settings.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics (such as Plausible or Google Analytics) to understand aggregate usage. These do not collect data you input into the tools themselves.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact hello@mello.tools. EEA/UK residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.

California residents: we do not sell your personal information for money. The use of advertising cookies described above may qualify as "sharing" under the CCPA/CPRA; you can opt out using Google's Ads Settings link above and the consent controls in the footer. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Children

Mello is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision; material changes will be reflected on this page.
